Sardin Roll


Recipe for Sardin Roll

For Pastry

250g butter
500g plain flour
a pinch of salt
cold water

Methods

Use rubbing in method to mix flour and butter until they become like bread crumbs. Add the salt and pour in cold water & knead into a dough. Leave the dough under damp cloth.

For filling

1 tin of pilchard in tomato sauce
chopped onions
1 chilli - chopped
a squeeze of lemon
a pinch of salt

Methods

  1. Mash the pilchard in tomato sauce and add the chilli and onions.
  2. put in salt and squeeze the lemon.
  3. Roll out the dough and cut out into rectangles.
  4. Put the filling and roll
  5. Do little cuts on the rolls before brushing egg yolk on top.
  6. Bake for about 40 minutes
